The Jefferson Choral Society will present “Love Me Tender,” a pops concert featuring great love songs of the 20 th century, at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 and 4 p.m. Feb.15 in the Joy and Lynch Christian Warehouse Theater at Fifth and Commerce streets,
The program will include a Gershwin showcase, Andrew Lloyd Webber hits including, “Love Changes Everything,” “The Music of the Night,” “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and “Memory,” along with other favorites such as “Dancing in the Dark,” “Begin the Beguine,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” “I Will Always Love You” and “Love Me Tender.”
Choral society director Aaron Garber will conduct the concert with Rose Marie Peak as accompanist.
The Feb. 13 concert will be in cabaret style with a wine, cheese, and dessert reception. The James River Swing and Sway Band will provide music for dancing before and after the concert and during intermission. Reserved tickets are $25 per person and can be obtained by calling the choral society at (434) 528-5700. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

The Jefferson Choral Society is an 80-voice regional chorus that performs four concerts a year in Central Virginia, including a benefit concert for the National D-Day Memorial in May. One of the most widely traveled choral groups in the state, the choral society has toured Europe five times and performed at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.; Carnegie Hall in New York; and at Bruton Parish Church, Williamsburg.
