Here is a synopsis of crimes reported to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office in the past week:
—Property damage, Riverview Road, July 23; two doors were damaged on a residence
—Grand larceny, Salt Creek Road, July 23; a 9.9-horsepower Mercury outboard boat motor was taken
—Grand larceny, Beech Lane, July 24; a new stainless steel refrigerator was taken from a new home construction site
—Burglary and grand larceny, North Amherst Highway, July 27; the Apple Market was broken into and a number of cigarette cartons were taken
—Grand larceny, South Amherst Highway, July 24; a number of parts were taken from a tractor trailer
—Property damage, South Amherst Highway, July 26; a window was broken at LC’s Hair shop
—Petit larceny, Izaak Walton Road, July 24; a faceplate was taken from a car stereo
—Petit larceny, Fairfax Circle, July 21; a red wheel barrow was taken from a yard
—Petit larceny, Madison Square, July 26; Several shirts were taken from Wal-Mart
—Property damage, Winesap Road, July 27; a door lock was damaged to a residence
—Credit card fraud, Lynch’s Ferry Road, July 27; a business received a fraudulent credit card for products sold
—Obtain money by false pretense, June 19; a check was forged and uttered at Wal-Mart
—Petit larceny, River Road, July 28; a Minkota trolling motor was taken from a boat
—Property damage, Kentmore Farm Road, July 28; a window was broken on a parked vehicle
—Burglary and grand larceny, South Coolwell Road, July 27; an Acer Aspire laptop computer was taken from a residence
—Grand larceny, Panther Falls, July 28; a wallet, cash and credit cards were taken from a parked vehicle, an American black and white purse with cash, a class ring, gold ring and wallet along with a grey and white American Eagle purse, LG spider cell phone, Lumax digital camera, green wallet, and cash were from a parked car.
—Property damage, New Glasgow Road, July 30; a mailbox was damaged
—Grand larceny, Sweet Briar Drive, June 19; a Dell laptop was taken from a parked vehicle
—Petit larceny, Winesap Road, July 29; a metal sign was taken from a residence
—Credit card theft, Westhaven Drive, July 30; a credit card was opened in another’s name
