Here is a synopsis of crimes reported to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 16-Jan. 23:

- Burglary, North Fork Road, Jan. 3: Food and a sleeping bag were taken from a residence.

-  Grand larceny, Riverview Road, Jan. 10: An amplifier was taken from a parked car.

-  Petit larceny, Round Mountain Loop, Jan. 12: A glass bowl was taken from a residence.

-  Embezzlement, South Amherst Highway, Jan. 14: Cash was taken from Wendy’s.

-  Petit larceny, North Amherst Highway, Jan. 15: Two license plates were taken from a parked car.

-  Property damage, Boxwood Farm Road, Jan. 15: A door was damaged.

-  Grand larceny, South Amherst Highway, Jan. 18: A six-foot open refrigeration unit was taken from Best Bet Food Store.

-  Petit larceny, Amelon Square, Jan. 19: A juvenile was charged with shoplifting.

-  Property damage, South Amherst Highway, Jan. 20: A motel room at the Best Value Inn was damaged.

-  Burglary and grand larceny, Main Street, Jan. 20: The pool hall was entered and cash was taken.

-  Grand larceny, Shelter Road, Jan. 21: A Milwaukee drill set, Dewalt sander, Milwaukee angle drill and Milwaukee hammer drill were taken from a parked car.

-  Shooting into an occupied dwelling, Shady Oak Drive, Jan. 21: A resident was in a room when someone broke a window with a BB-gun.

-  Grand larceny, Madison Square, Jan. 22: Cash was taken from a wallet while a shopper was distracted at Wal-Mart.

-  Malicious wounding, South Coolwell Road, Jan. 22: A resident was walking on South Coolwell Road in the area of the Quik-E store and states he was assaulted by two men and struck in the head.
