Members of the Village Garden Club once again surveyed the abundance of Town of Amherst homes festooned with yuletide decorations this year, on the evening of Dec. 10, and compiled this list of their favorites.

The contest was open to any decorated residence, organization or business where the Christmas lights were turned on that night and submitted their picks:

Traditional: First place, 151 North Main St., H.C. McClenney; second, 218 North Main St., G.L. Staton; third, 291 North Main St., the Hansen residence.

Most festive: First place, 189 Grandview Drive, the Miller residence; second, 162 Sunset Heights, the Garrette residence; third, 137 Woodland Drive, the Dowdy residence.

Most original: First place, 228 North Main St., the Shrader residence; second, 232 North Main St., the Minter residence; third, 168 Waugh’s Ferry Road, the Kozak residence; honorable mention, 358 North Main St., the Cash residence.

Outdoor tree: First place, 370 Union Hill road, the Prior residence; second, 386 Grandview Drive, the Sarver residence; third, 362 Sunset Drive, the Motley residence; honorable mention, 286 South Main St., the Campbell residence.
